Re: DISCUSS EBAY RESULTS HERE (post auctions in reference section)
This doesn't seem to be any of the ten cans Dan Morean recently auctioned off as a group along with the case box, but I interpret the price as including a $3,500 bump for the rare lid. I wonder also if the can isn't from the same find, and if 13 more are going to pop up at some point.

Seems to me that ziptab intact cans occasionally go for outrageous prices. They're cool, but this can can't be worth $200+, can it?

Re: DISCUSS EBAY RESULTS HERE (post auctions in reference section)
This smells funny to me. This can shows up as sold now, and 130point.com shows that a $1,500 was accepted. Yet the can has been relisted with a lower BIN price.mtracy64 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 24, 2022 7:02 am This doesn't seem to be any of the ten cans Dan Morean recently auctioned off as a group along with the case box, but I interpret the price as including a $3,500 bump for the rare lid. Suddenly I cannot find a decent Edelweiss crown - About 3 years ago I acquired a beautiful LP Edelweiss cone - Finally a crown popped up on ebay - before I took a nap I threw a ridiculous $42.50 bid at it ... and came up short
It Sold for $43.50 ! (?)

Do you go to the Spring Thaw show? We talk about it as a great can show here, but it's also Crownvention. I've only ever sought out one crown, for my Frederick's cone, and the Edelweiss eBay seller found it for me.Summitcan wrote: ↑Wed Mar 08, 2023 4:35 pm Suddenly I cannot find a decent Edelweiss crown - About 3 years ago I acquired a beautiful LP Edelweiss cone - Finally a crown popped up on ebay - before I took a nap I threw a ridiculous $42.50 bid at it ... and came up short

Dave's been selling off his killer collection of mostly offgrade cans for quite some time now. I won a couple things from him and found out that he's a guy I used to see at Blue/Grey years ago. The Centlivre consistently brings good money in any condition.Summitcan wrote: ↑Wed Apr 05, 2023 1:48 pm Terrific Midwest Can with a lot of consistent spotting all the way around $1225

Great buy on a 1 of 1 can.
Of course, until the buyer figures out what he just paid $1k for.

Oh, there are others out there. There are LP cones as well. It's not quite as tough as it used to be in all-original condition but it's still pretty tough, and dumpers are far from common too.OhioCanGuy wrote: ↑Sun Jun 04, 2023 8:51 pmGreat buy on a 1 of 1 can.

Re: DISCUSS EBAY RESULTS HERE (post auctions in reference section)
It's not a record, but it is easily the most egregious example of overpaying for repainted can that I recall seeing.
