Re: DISCUSS EBAY RESULTS HERE (post auctions in reference section)
I have to assume the seller did not know what he had or else his description would have been better.
Chuck, were you the high bidder?

No I wasn't. I think I was third in line. But I just bid in case no one knew what it was. This is my can.pinnacle-project wrote: ↑Sun Aug 30, 2020 3:25 pm I have to assume the seller did not know what he had or else his description would have been better.

Leon said he had this can. But he never sent me a picture. So not sure if that is another one known or not.

Re: DISCUSS EBAY RESULTS HERE (post auctions in reference section)
Big number for sure.
I have a really nice example of this can on my shelf. However, this one would have been an upgrade, so I was interested in picking it up. In the final 20 seconds or so, the bid was still $138-ish. Figured I'd throw in a bid just over $300, would likely get the can and sell my downgrade. The perfect plan!
Before I could enter my bid, it went crazy and was over $400. I backed off as clearly someone else wanted it more than me.
Two observations:
1. There were three unique bidders over $400
2. The high bidder upped his bid near the end. So whatever his max bid originally was, he upped it again to be sure he won the can. Would love to know that number.

Re: DISCUSS EBAY RESULTS HERE (post auctions in reference section)
There was NO shill bidding on this can. I think its because so many good rubouts were found under this can.
Please be carefull even with a question mark. I don't sell on Ebay as much anymore but the prices have gone sky high because of the lack of shows or collectors are focused on their hobbies.

I was with captain (RB member) when he placed a last minute bid north of 700 on this in the parking lot of our Guzzle show last month. It was a terrific buy!

As a Miller collector, it is a surprise how much these common black Miller cans are going for on eBay. Condition is king, as they say.....I guess.

Re: DISCUSS EBAY RESULTS HERE (post auctions in reference section)
I remember watching this auction and my jaw about hit the floor when the final result was posted. Since ebay now collects sales tax for most states (44 of the 50 and counting), the buyer likely paid over $1k for this can.Summitcan wrote: ↑Sun Jan 10, 2021 9:58 pm I do not doubt the value of this can .. not a Goebel expert ,

Not too many years ago you could buy a clean one of these for $250ish, maybe even less.
Condition is the new rarity.

Re: DISCUSS EBAY RESULTS HERE (post auctions in reference section)
I'm going to apologize to the anyone who might be a RB member who is hosting this auction but...... this is crazy. This is a $5 can. I think the 2 bidders are confused with the other can which reads "You Have Won 4 Tickets To A Local Miller Lite Ultimate Halloween Party" version from my previous post. I may to blame for this.......

$660 plus tax for the 5th IRTP Pabst (and first non-long opener)? I sold a better example here for $140 about two years ago after upgrading it.

Very tough as a straight steel. More common as a crimped steel. Good luck trying to get the aluminum (v2-94-9).

Too funny! Didn’t realize the SS was tough as I’ve had many, have had numerous aluminum as well. I’ll have to dig them all out and throw them on eBay.oldindiapaleale wrote: ↑Fri Feb 26, 2021 8:51 pmVery tough as a straight steel. More common as a crimped steel. I think the 2 guys bidding on this Lite Halloween contest can got confused and thought they were getting the tougher version......I suspect there will be some buyers remorse when he gets the can. The guy who lost is going to say "Whew!!"

Re: DISCUSS EBAY RESULTS HERE (post auctions in reference section)
That seller has had a steady stream of nice Pabst and Krueger OI's and the prices have been all over the place. I agree, I bought a similar example of that can in the last 6 months or so and think I payed around $200. I don't know what guys are thinking, the seller even does a good job describing the Lilek scarcity on his OI's and an R4 goes for double an R7 in the same or even worse condition.mtracy64 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 25, 2021 7:16 pm $660 plus tax for the 5th IRTP Pabst (and first non-long opener)? I don't even understand my own auction results. $206 for a Hop N Gator Lemon Lager that no one wanted three months ago for $55?
$480 for a Fehr's Racehorse Crowntainer that went for $225 six months ago?

The craziness we've seen in the dealer auctions is happening on eBay too. Someone snagged a bargain here, though.
