Re: Going dumping too!
Good luck to you guys! I'm heading out east next Monday for dumping fix! Bocks here I come!

Why drive 12 hour one way to dig Pre-Tax Tru Blu ales, Genny 12 Horse Longopeners, Gamecock Ales, Apollos, Neuweilers Bock, and Krueger’s Baldies when you can locally drive 10 hours round trip and dig Pfeiffer, Goebel, Drewrys and Strohs?

Re: Going dumping too!
Sounds like a crew that could bring home some gems, weather, or not. Good luck guys! Looking forward to our Pa. trip next week (Chris Taylor, Anthony Ballios, & myself). After digging some pieces parts here recently, looking forward to finding some whole specimens in more productive soil.

Re: Going dumping too!
yeah the kings was my can of the trip! Too bad we didnt find a pile of them but in that dump you had to really work just to find any cans being it was mostly pre 35'. Have hulls ever been found in the adirondacks? last year the guys find the Ox heads and then we found a few of these this year in a different dump quite some distance from the first and we've never found CT cans before this. Just got off the phone with dave and KB and they re hit a dump we went to a couple of years ago but was frozen and they found some real nice surprises there! I smell a spring trip in the works...

Re: Going dumping too!
Dwight so far all the crowns are real roachy topper ales with the best one pictured here. most of the cones aren't cleaning at all and they were red UC's hp & lp. White hp UC's, haberles ales, congress beers, bev beers and ales but i got lucky with a couple of Haberles HP cans. I just checked some soaking and one crown looks like it has some big block letters that curve across the face like a fehrs? if it cleans it will be a gr 10 at best and that's if i'm able to ID it...figures. One thing about this trip, we found lots of cans with bottles on the sides, 2 diff pabst, 2 diff rupperts, millers, buds.

Re: Going dumping too!
Like the other guys said another great trip in the book! Saturday was a little rough, cold, rainy and not a lot of cans. We found a lot of dumps but not a lot of cans. Sunday we were in dumps (CAN dumps) pretty much the whole day. I probably brought home 10 cases of cans and am in the process of pre-cleaning everything now. So far I've finished the stuff from Sun afternoon and am now working on the cans from Sunday morning.
This was from the last dump of the day but it got dark before we even put a dent in it, looks like first stop next trip! A lot of the usual suspects in really good shape with a few exotics mixed in. Went from lo pro cones and O/I's up to probably early to mid 50's.

This was the dump we dug right before that last one. Pretty big dump near some cabins with stuff from right after the war on up through the late 50's. Nothing super tough but some decent cans and slightly above average preservation for this area.
OK, back to the sink I go!

Re: Going dumping too!
Just finished up another batch from the first dump we dug yesterday morning. Gary and Judy found this one behind a cabin earlier in week and were kind enough to save it for us. THANKS! A lot of the usual suspects from the 50's with a few real oddballs thrown in and a nice little 30's section with some real early Pabst Exports and Hull's Ale O/I's. Sweet!

Re: Going dumping too!
Wow.....that's a really cool assortment of cans......from both groups of dumpers- Mike S. and 'Monger. Are you sure that King's isn't really a Black Label? A Bally Bock! Nice! Hull's Ales, unbelievable. Stein's...way cool.
It sure beats watching the Bills, although the Broncos aren't over achieving either.

Re: Going dumping too!
Got everything pre-cleaned today and even soaked two of the better cans. This was my haul from Saturdays digging.
Some pretty interesting pre-war stuff in there but I'm not sure how they'll clean up. Keeping my fingers crossed. None of these will see acid until at least Wed/Thu, wish me luck!

Re: Going dumping too!
Bucket fresh and still draining. Nothing tough but condition is nice.
Here's an interesting one. At first I was thinking misprint but, thinking about it, I think it's just a paintover of the same label. It's only visible on one side which is why I don't think it's a misprint, must just be faded more on the one side so you can see it better. Kinda' cool, I like it.
Almost looks like a blurry picture but the top and bottom coats are about an inch off of each other.

Those cans drying look amazing. I know that those Beverwycks usually preserves well, but wow, what shine. Nice work, man.

Thanks Jon, these are all the same cans pictured somewhere earlier in this thread. Acid is doing wonders. Here's a new batch, pulled these out of the bucket about 3 minutes ago.

Re: Going dumping too!
That second batch is even better. More variety than the bevy of Beverwycks. What color! Some of the cans I pull out of acid and declare as "good" are 25% of what those cans look like. With the cans coming out of acid like that, you must be having a pretty entertaining evening, eh?

Amazing results. Quick question - why have you not removed the protective coating from your washing machine? They are begging you to!
I am so eager to get out and dump it is killing me - I have three week of vaycay to take by year's end - several of those days will be in tick free woods.
