Message in an Old Narry Bottle!

Wanted to share this very cool provenance that I came across in a post-prohibition Narragansett bottle. Got the bottle from a family in Rhode Island that owned a liquor store back in the day. Appears as if some guy named “Herve” worked for a distributor in Augusta, Maine found the bottle in the wall of the distributor’s building that was getting demoed. Herve wrote a separate note to “Arthur”about the message that he found in the bottle. Some dude “J.A. Michaud” worked at the distributor and dropped a note dated “Thursday April 12, 1934” in the bottle before putting it in the wall presumably as a time capsule. The note is on old Schlitz distributor letterhead and quotes Horace Greeley’s famous Go West quote with a little spin on it. Note goes on to name 4 “Witnesses…” and say that they distribute “Schlitz, Pabst Blue Ribbon, Narragansett, Portsmouth Ale by Eldridge + Consumers”.
