Baldies at the Masters?

#1

Post by Joe T »

I saw this picture on the Masters website. Looks like a couple of Krueger OI's on the table in the background. April of 1936, would these be baldies if they were indeed Kruger cans?

Here is a link to a better picture where you can see the cans better.

Looks like Krueger, but I think the baldies were only 1935 with the hat starting in 1936.

Must have been a cold day with all that fur on the ladies.

Always love a good vintage pic of cans out in their natural habitat.

Thanks for posting!

Great pics! Not an expert on baldys but enjoyed the pics. Went to the masters link in the second post and noticed the unusual way things were photographed in those days. The furry outfit on the gentleman in one of the pics where they highlight the area below the waist looks odd...

I know that the bottles we see in the front of the first pic are Coca Cola. A bit of genius in early marketing. It looks like the lady on the left in the first pic has her tongue stuck out. That's pretty common nowadays with the social media and all, but back then it wasn't. It would even be considered unlady like. Unusual to catch a lady doing that at the time. She's either a trend setter or she's pretty hammered.
