Gluek & Missing Prohibition Brands Birch Buds? Lime Cherry and..

Post by hemmings »

Realized I have quite a number of Gluek labels that did not make the Kay Central States book. Then, looking at the golf card and blotters below realized there are several brands I've never seen or heard of anywhere else. Anyone else ever see Birch Buds, Strawberry, or Cherry?

Gluek July 1930 blotter sm.jpg
The Golf card has a Ginger Ale label very different from the one in the book. The Green Blotter has a Gluek's Pilsener more like the pre pro one than the one during.

This kind of Grape soda and the Lime Dry are a couple that are not in there either. Love to talk with anyone else who is into the Gluek stuff... Andy

I realized I should have asked if anybody has more of the monthly calendar blotters? Would love to try and collect those too.... Would be interested in just images if you don't want to part with yours....

Hiya, thanks for posting those, they are great. All newspaper ads? Any idea what year the Glix bock is from? I have two variations of the label but haven't every tried to narrow them down beyond Pre-Pro. There were some more labels that are different than anything I've seen too.

@hemmings All ads pulled from newspapers.com There were only two Glix Bock ads and both were from March 23, 1921.

Looking back though the images realized the bottle of Root Beer in the ad is very different from what I have, and the 1 I've seen a presumably 1 of a kind of too. Wish they had shown the Glix Bock label- will get a scan of mine and update this- not positive but I believe they may both be unique.
