Probably a little too far afield but thought I would mention that the Super Early label collector Henry Stephens has 2 travel books and he does talk about label collecting while globe trotting a little bit.

1920 Journeys Exp Argentina Paraguay Chile Henry Stephens

and 1915 South American Travels Henry Stephens

Stephens lived in Waters, MI and had a wall with his name spelled out in bottles. There are several postcards that come up on Ebay now and then showing his place. TT may have a few items from his collection left if interested. edit- 83 items when I search his name in descriptions...

Ironically, I put together an article for the BCCA magazine regarding him and his wall. Here's the story. Click to enlarge.

Andy, no, none of the articles mentioned anything about labels. They did touch on his extensive decorating with bottle crowns, sometimes painted, often arranges in designs of some sort.

Kinda makes sense that all those bottles came with labels. He probably came across some unique ones that peaked his interest and began his subsequent hobby niche. I checked Tavern Trove and a couple Michigan labels that I was unaware of. Here's a PDF of those labels in case anyone's interested in labels.

If interested, I can send you the clippings I dug up while I had access to Newspapers.com (if you want more reference material to go with your post cards).

I noticed 9 Michigan labels that I hadn’t been aware of and added them to my Michigan Label collage. I don’t collect labels but it makes for a nice pictorial reference of them.
