My current project (viewtopic.php?f=1&t=52030) is getting some decent attention and input. Thank you for that.
The Supplements use ALE, BEER, BOCK and DRAFT to describe the various beers. All well and good.
When it comes to the "other beverages", they have a litany of descriptions: CEREAL BEV, M BEVERAGE, MALT, MALT BEV, MALT BEVERAGE, MALT TONIC, MALTA, MBEV, MTONIC, N BEER, N/A, NEAR and NEAR BEER are being used. Just shows a lack of organization, leadership or both.
I have gone through both Supplements and wherever possible, have determined that every one of those "other beverage" descriptions includes one of the following identifications:
NO ALCOHOL, NON-ALCOHOLIC and NON-TAXABLE UNDER SECTION 5051 I.R.C.
Now, if anyone has either of these two TAB TOP cans, could you check for any of these statements on them so I might be able to sort them into their proper grouping.
Appreciate the help in advance...

@kruegerbock and @idigrust
Thanks for your responses.
The two cans I posted that I couldn’t determine what category they belonged to, I’ve made a choice. (If anyone comes up with contrary data, I’ll be glad to revise the images.) I compared them to their duplicate flat top versions in Supplement I. The flat tops definitely indicate no alcohol. The Tab versions are identical in design, coloring and by the same brewer. If they changed their product I would expect it to be noted somewhere on the container. I placed them in the NO-ALCOHOL group which I created for my own purposes.
The naming of the brew type included a litany of descriptions: CEREAL BEV, M BEVERAGE, MALT, MALT BEV, MALT BEVERAGE, MALT TONIC, MALTA, MBEV, MTONIC, N BEER, N/A, NEAR and NEAR BEER. Somewhere on the can, they all had one of the following or similar statements:
• NON-TAXABLE AS FERMENTED LIQUOR UNDER FEDERAL LAW
• NON-TAXABLE UNDER SECTION 5051 I.R.C.
• NON-ALCOHOLIC
• ALCOHOL CONTENT LESS THAN ONE-HALF OF ONE % BY VOLUME
So, to facilitate the groupings, I lumped all 13 of the above into a single category…NO ALCOHOL! That makes 4 categories for each Supplement. They are Malt Lager, Malt Liquor, Stout Malt Liquor and No Alcohol.
So I redid all the images, adding those provided in the posts, removed those that didn't belong and separated the images by Supplements for easier viewing. Here's a link: https://www.therustybunch.com/phpBB3/vi ... 05#p437705
