Please 'splain me, Lucy...

@idigrust Is this about small cans (7oz - 10oz) and small bottles (similar sizes) that actually held beer?

Not Related Suggestion: create a topic like what Rand's collecting now...non-can beer cans.

I'm guessing mini bottles, not 100% on that though.

@Rand , Would "Non-Can Beer Cans" be a good title?

@idigrust @MI-Cans So.....not 100% sure what this thread is about...starts with a Ricky Ricardo reference.....then pulls me in to try an answer a question that was never actually asked. While the "would this be a good title" was put out there.....nowhere can I figure out "a good title for what". I do see a new Breweriana thread kicking around.....perhaps this has something to do with that? I'm serious here.....I really don't know what's being asked or what anybody is talking about. Nevertheless.....in case you're asking what I'm calling my new collection activity.....turns out I have a name for it.....it's called.....get ready....are you sitting down? It's called..... BEER CAN'TS

@idigrust NABA does have a cool website. I downloaded the complimentary issue and saw where you got the titles. Good thinking! I emailed a contact person asking for an explanation of "Mini Beers" and when I get it, I will post it here.

@Rand I started by posting a suggestion in General Discussion that more people consider putting their posts in the Breweriana forum if they fall into any of the categories.

Looking through the titles, I asked Danny to explain what is meant by "Mini Beers".

In the post I also suggested a thread for your unique but legitimate collecting niche.

Thanks buddy! Actually my collection "rules" are kinda specific, so not sure if I should force them on others. But they make sense to me! Anyway, a "beer can't" to me is something that:

1) Looks like a REAL beer can....not "Buttwizer" or "Hineycan" or other beer can wannabes. Basically, something a real brewery licenced to have made.

2) It must NOT be a real beer can. WAY too many things out there that are modified beer cans. People cutting tops off cans and filling them with wax and calling it a candle.....that doesn't count. Or taking a real beer can and just swaping out the top for a slotted bank lid doesn't count. That's a beer can....not a beer can't.

3) For me, it must perform a function. Just a smaller or larger version of a can, or the same size can that just sits there isn't very interesting. Should DO SOMETHING! Be a radio, telephone, salt shaker, lighter, hold golf balls, hold handkerchiefs... make something out of yourself! Get a job you lazy bum!

4) It should predominantly be a beer can.....not a beer can included into some other thing. For example, there are lamps out there where the lamp shade is a "beer can't" but the item in total is not predominantly a beer can't....it's mostly a lamp. Also I rule out the mechanical pencils that have a tiny beer can on the end.....that's close, but in the end it's mostly a pencil, not a beer can't.

5) Finally, personal taste, and I go back and forth on this.....but I prefer the single can thing....not so much the 6-pack shaped salt shaker, or the string of budweiser shaped cans used as a string of christmas lights. Vague area there, but I personally come down on the side of single cans....not so much assemblies of beer can'ts

To summarize:
1) Tries to look like an actual Beer Can
2) Can not be a actual Beer Can
3) Must be a functional item
4) Must be mostly a beer can't, not part of a larger thing
