Cold Spring Flat Tops Minnesota find
Just thought I would put this info out there. In 1974, my mother was a realtor selling houses for Bermel Smaby realtors in Bloomington Minnesota. She listed a house in east bloomington where an older guy in his 80s was selling to go into assisted living. I was only 9 or 10 years old but I remember her telling me how dirty and cluttered the home was and no way it will ever sell. The guy was a hoarder never threw away anything. In his basement was about 12 or 15 plastic leaf bags full of cold spring flat tops. Each bag contained about 150 or 200 cans. For sure 1500-2000 cans. My family did not collect at this time but with this discovery got my whole family hooked. My Dad kept 4 bags only. (700-800 cans) The rest were thrown away at the dump. Who knows what other cans may have been there but we ended up selling all the cans to DOM'S LIQUOR in Minneapolis. The owner of the store was Bob something but he paid my Dad $800 for all the cans. Bob was a big collector and traded cans right out of his liquor store. Also he made his own cans called Bob's Beer! Anyways I think we sold him roughly 800 cold spring flat tops. Anyone out there know if he sold them all??

Mr. Keenan passed away in 2005. He was remembered in the 2005 October/November issue of the BCCA magazine. There was another mention of him or rather his collection in the 2007 April/May edition of the BCCA magazine.

Wow, first the "Wind Tunne"l find and now I hear about the "Bob Warehouse" find. In the late 70's can remember the "Mule Head" Wall find, with about 40 of them found.

Re: Cold Spring Flat Tops Minnesota find
What a great story, thank you for sharing.
I have had this can on my shelves since about 1977.
It’s been everywhere I’ve been. I was a bachelor for many years and didn’t dust apparently, at all. If this can could talk, some hard years- starting to show.
I remember the day it showed up minty mint. Ziphippie
