Here are some easy steps to convert any foreign language from a photo...
First you have to extract the text from the .jpg or image. That can be done here:
https://www.onlineocr.net/
Then simply take the text and have google convert it....
In google type translate from XXXX language to English....
Here is an example of one I recently did...
Translates to - "The beer can only appeared in 1933. An invention owed to the Krueger Brewing Co., based in New Jersey"

Good info - thanks for sharing. On ocr tools, you may also look at Grooper for reading PDF documents. I am using it to capture both data from both electronic files (like txt files) or scanned files (like PDFs): https://www.bisok.com/grooper-data-capt ... -pass-ocr/

I am interested in trying it with beer cans etc with cyrillic script. It may be sometimes difficult to determine language.

The Google Translate app for iphones is another method.
You select the language "from" and "to" then allow the use of the camera. It starts with a live image which often flickers across a range of words, BUT, at the bottom you will see [|] Scan, and if you activate it, it will take a scan of all of the words visible. Tap the "select all" below, then a blue bar shows up at top with a blue arrow to the right - tap the arrow and you should see all the words translated. Not perfect, and a bit of experimentation to get it to work - but free and portable. It allows you to forward by text message or email the translation.
