Very first COLT 45 ZIP TOP from Detroit. 1962./SOLD
For sale is one rare overlooked underated sleeper of a zip top. The very first Colt 45 with out the silver metallic outlining the blue COLT 45 letters. No Smile beads on top. Flat smooth top. Actually 2nd variation of first since the first of the first does not have "lift tab----- pull open" This one does. Tough can in very good indoor condition. Maybe a grade 1 because of a couple of smal scratches & small humidity spots in white. $25.00 steals this rare Gem. LEON.

Re: Very first COLT 45 ZIP TOP from Detroit. 1962./SOLD
Leon - so that does not have the silver outline around the Colt 45 letters - so that was first then the did the silver border around Colt 45? That is an earlier zip lid than my 16oz zip. Do you have the 16oz without the silver border?

I'm not aware of a Detroit 16oz without the silver outline. If anyone would have one, it would be Leon.

'so that was first then the did the silver border around Colt 45?'
I didn't understand that part quoted above?
YES, The older first COLT 45's did not have any silver border around the COLT 45. I don't think I have or had or ever seen the 16 oz. Colt45 with out silver border but it probably does exist. LEON.

Re: Very first COLT 45 ZIP TOP from Detroit. 1962./SOLD
Storzman, Here's a pic of 2 different older zip tops, on right is flat lid with no smile beads or directions. On left is same lid but with instructions. Both of these have no silver outline around COLT 45. Note the other differance's. LEON.
