Mother Goldstein Wine Cans
Here are the three Mother Goldstein cones. 32, 12 and 6.4 ounces. The 6.4 ounce has 2/5 pint as it's volume. The 6.4 is not faded but it is clear that had it been the darker blue it would have been difficult to read the text. The quart and the twelve ounce are about equal in scarcity whereas the 6.4 is very tough and could honestly be considered rare. These cans are made by Continental. When viewed side by side with the 6 ounce C&C soda cone, the 6.4 is noticably smaller making it a likely candidate as the smallest cone ever. Click to see a larger image if you want.

Re: Mother Goldstein Wine Cans
Was putting together a couple of BMV packages and thought I remembered something BCM or BC regarding wine cans and quick search found these two pages in "Brewery Collectibles, 1983, June/July, pages 34 and 35". Nice to see Josh's 32 and 12 pictured in color, and the BC article doesn't show the smaller 6.4. Cool cone set Josh.

Re: Mother Goldstein Wine Cans
Is that 6.4oz can physically the same container as the 6oz sodas like Dr Pepper or C&C?
That's a cool little can. Can anybody translate the Hebrew passage toward the bottom of those labels?

Re: Mother Goldstein Wine Cans
Dave, I edited my original post to read six ounces for the C&C's. You know, I never looked at my C&C cans close enough, I always figured they were eight ounces. So now the post correctly states that the wine can is noticably smaller and not the same can as the C&C's.

Re: Mother Goldstein Wine Cans
OK, fact check me on this: the smallest of the skinny cones so far is 6.4oz, the next larger can was made for less content (6oz), and then they jump up to those skinny-weird 9oz cones. Do I have that right?josh wrote:the wine can is noticably smaller and not the same can as the C&C's.

Re: Mother Goldstein Wine Cans
Found an off grade quart in the 'wild' at an estate sale. Of course the sides are better than the face, but it was virtually no money - so I am not being picky! I collect Hartford stuff and always wanted one of these.
