Is there any thought to either adding the extensions (if they exists) or upgrading to php3 to allow native smartphone access? I see there are apps (tapatalk for example), that would allow native access for iphone / android into php3 BB's via the app.
Not looking to add or create more of of a headache for you Danny. I know there would be inherent risks in such an upgrade (and maybe not worth it), but just curious as the natural evolution of BB server software.
Thanks.
Native phone app for phpBB's??

Re: Native phone app for phpBB's??
I am slightly lost on your question. Are you having trouble accessing the site on your smart phone? We are running PHPbb3 and I have no problem getting it on my I-Phone.

Re: Native phone app for phpBB's??
Are you just using a browser (like Safari) on the iPhone to access the RB site? If so, yes I can go into my browser on my android phone and go to the RB site. That has always worked fine. I'm talking about firing up a php3 forum app and have access to the RB site. I liken it to the NFL app I have installed. Sure, I could fire up the browser and goto nfl.com and navigate the website on a 4" screen, but the nfl app is SO much easier to navigate on a mobile device.idigrust wrote:I am slightly lost on your question. As mentioned before, one example is Tapatalk and that is a mobile app built specifically for forum access and works with php3 BB's. But, maybe you have already been down this path for any host side hooks...
