That is a beast. Estimated to be 50 years old. If it is like me, it is one tough old SOB and won't be very good to eat.

They are in Virginia now but the season is closed in Va waters of the Chesapeake. (facebook photos of some of my new friends)

They don't weigh them... they are quickly released... In Florida, some species you are not allowed to land the fish... Tarpon? I think is one.

Glad you preformed CPR, catch, photo, release, on the fish. Down here, we quit holding big fish that way. The fish has spent its whole life horizontal. Holding it vertically like that can allow the internal organs slide out of position. The fish will swim away, but may die later. Better picture this way also.

All the boat ramps were closed? I saw on the news today that the governor of Florida considers golf courses essential so all of those are open. Maybe you should invite the governor fishing. He obviously does not have sufficient appreciation for the sport.
Focus: Cones and flats from Michigan, South Bend, and Fort Wayne. Foreign cans only if I bought them myself in the country of origin.

Closed ramps? Can you still fish? I’d freak.
Fishing remains open here in WI, still early catch and release season on trout but state waterways are open for gamefish- food is essential. Ziphippie

-small fish are better than no fish, sometimes things don’t go as planned.
Spicoli and I did some river cleanup yesterday- paddled for about nine hours on the Yahara in southern WI. Early catch and release bass season now, so first time ever using big baits this early. Caught a bunch of small fish, lost two muskies on my ultralight throwing a small spinner- I always go light for a good time in the kayak. Some colored glass was spotted on the shoreline and Spicoli dove into the thick underbrush.... “there’s a cone, and there’s a cone and oh, here’s a pile.” Ziphippie

canz are coming out of the acid- cones were green Walters. I was expecting the flattops to be PBR’s and not much more than that! 8oz. Goebels, black Millers, ‘54 Schlitzer, green Old Style, Wausau Schoen’s, black Weber, Bally’s, Red Cap (there was a Red Cap dump near my house growing up, these were less than a mile downstream) and big eagle Bergoffs! Love the Bergoffs, should’ve found these a long time ago- paddled here for over forty years. grrrrrrrrr. Ziphippie

update: my older bro remembers the Red Cap dump. He said a neighbor cleaned it out and built his awesome collection trading 300-400 really nice Red Caps from this spot in the early 70’s. The ones I’ve found over the years nearby were from Belleville-
