The St Louis County Vote doesn't affect St Louis City Mask Mandate

#1

Post by keithker »

Although the initial news on the voting by St Louis County of removing the mask mandate seemed like great news, I was reminded that St Louis "County" and St Louis "City" are not the same.

The mandate is still in effect in St. Louis City.

Here is what was at the bottom of the information regarding the vote.

The vote to terminate the mandate was 5-2. A spokesman for Page said he will respond to the vote at a press conference Wednesday. Before the meeting, Clancy told News 4 she believes lawsuits will be filed concerning the council's vote. The mandate is still in effect in St. Louis City.

And we were reminded by the St Louis convention team during our tour of the facility, that if guidelines are not followed, they have the authority to shut the whole CANvention down.

Even if the mask mandate went away, private businesses still can require masks in the absence of any formal mandate so time to stock up on RB masks if you are planning on attending this CANvention, or if you are on the extra careful side, a full hazmat suit.

Everyone has asked for further guidance on the mask mandate issue. I wish there was something definitive on what that St Louis City and County guidance is but would simply ask everyone attending CANvention to be flexible. Be prepared to have to follow whatever guidance is in place during the event.

Yesterday, the Attorney General's request to stop the mask mandate was agreed upon in court yesterday. So right now, there is no mask mandate in St. Louis County. BUT that very same afternoon......another mask mandate was introduced by the St. Louis County council.

You can review and track the information here:
