Fitzgerald Js

How about Chris S. and Chris E. and the other Richbrau guys finding the big Fitzgerald Jspouts? They went from being hard to find labels to "everybody has one" thanks to a bathroom break in the woods! MarkB

Looking for pics
"Although the cans will be of no value after opened, their cost is expected to be small..." Iowa: June 22, 1935

Why drive 12 hour one way to dig Pre-Tax Tru Blu ales, Genny 12 Horse Longopeners, Gamecock Ales, Apollos, Neuweilers Bock, and Krueger’s Baldies when you can locally drive 10 hours round trip and dig Pfeiffer, Goebel, Drewrys and Strohs?

About 300 Burgomaster Beers and 80 Garryowen Ales if I recall correctly, and many of them in really nice condition. It caused quite a stir at Blue/Grey that year!

Most of the credit goes to Chris Solari who just went a little farther in the woods than the rest of us. He came running back speaking in tougues holding two Fitzgerald j-spouts. He finally uttered the word "more' and we took off like a shot. Beside the Js we found silver Fitzgerald Burgomaster crowntainers, Utica Club Ale and Bar low profiles, white and gold Trommers All Malts and a six of All Malt OIs. Mikey Daniels found a single Krueger 16 0z Beer and Solari found a Ballantine World's Fair quart. Also in that dump were hundreds of Schaeffer Woodgrain flats, many we left because we couldn't get them in the car. Mark Porambo had to ride all the way back with two bags of wet cans on his lap. The best part of the story was that it rained nearly all weekend and the only time it stopped was when we were digging that dump. As soon as we finished loading the van it started up again and continued all the way back to Porambo's house. What a weekend!

One Garryowen looked like it was, but it turned out that a flat lid from some other type of can had gotten wedged into the bottom of the can and hid the concave bottom underneath.

Have only dug 2 burgomaster J's with the flat bottom and it was on Long Island back in the mid 80's. Found alongside a Tally Ho beer LP. Just these 3 cans together in a burn area after a brush fire.
