Los Angeles Garbage man find

#1

Post by CMD »

This small collection was cleaned out from an old bar and left on a curb. Garbage man takes them home and puts a can or two on ebay and gets bombarded by emails from collectors. He wont sell, thinks he had $100K worth of cans , tries to clean them himself and ruins some. Puts the rest on ebay and gets fraction of what he could have had

No, its not smoke...the cans were full and leaked all over each other. I did get the Town House by Monarch, R-10 Black Eagle (PatenT Pending...no S), & the Coronado. Some of the cans cleaned up. Some were ruined by the paranoid owner who tried to clean them himself to get more money. He wouldn't take offers and put the cans only on ebay, which sold for less than my offers!

So the cans in the first three pictures in the first post, and in the condition shown, what would be the collective value for the cans today? Anyone want to make an estimate?

And let me guess, he caused the damage to the Coronado and Brownie using Windex or some cleaner like that...the Crown Cans that have the weakest paint.
"Although the cans will be of no value after opened, their cost is expected to be small..." Iowa: June 22, 1935

Why drive 12 hour one way to dig Pre-Tax Tru Blu ales, Genny 12 Horse Longopeners, Gamecock Ales, Apollos, Neuweilers Bock, and Krueger’s Baldies when you can locally drive 10 hours round trip and dig Pfeiffer, Goebel, Drewrys and Strohs?
