Can Patching - larger holes

#1

Post by Mikepler »

I've been experimenting with the "RRS (Raisner, Rhodes, Smoller) Method of Can Patching", as detailed in the January '08 Rustlings. (Info like that is worth the price of admission).
The following example uses their method, with the addition of a paper clip for larger holes. It holds the glued paper in place for a few minutes until the epoxy starts to hold. It also helps to pull the paper into the same curve as the can.
The hook on the end of the paper clip is small enough to allow me to shake it out of the can when I'm done.
I am using heavy-weight brown construction paper (you don't want to look into a can and see a patch of white paper).
