Don't Want To Screw This Up!

Post by doug.hartjes »

Hi folks,
I'm a new Rusty Bunch Member and first time posting a question on the forum. I picked up a sweet Milwaukee Club can and it's got some rust on it but not too bad (see pics). I've used oxalic acid baths before on cans but they were in more rough condition. What do you recommend for exact portions for acid and water to bathe this beauty? And, for how long? Water temp? I don't want to ruin this can because it's got great potential!

Thanks for your help!

Hi Doug.

Welcome to the RB. Glad you found us and joined. I'd do a tablespoon of oxalic in hot tap water for 30 mins. Check it after 15 mins and tooth brush it if you want or just wait for 30 mins to tooth brush it. I don't think 30 mins will mess it up. Good luck and post some after pictures.
Thanks. Dave
