In a conversation with @DURTBAGG Steve today I related to him a story of lacquer on a can, I spoke of the time I used acetone to remove the lacquer from a Playmate can. I thought I saw the recommendation in the forum here but I'll be damned if I can find the methods and procedures used in the forum.
Hoping somebody can revive the discussion or methods so that Steve could use it on any additional lacquer cans. He has a crowntainer just smothered in lacquer but I wasn't sure how acetone might have worked on a crowntainer.

Re: Lacquer removal on cans
Did you want paintover removal or lacquer removal?
For just lacquer removal I thought there was a different method.
The tollware cans this works great but also removes the lacquer and then also starts removing paint if you leave in too long.
