Bub's STRONG and DNCMT3.2%

Is this a normal can - it's the STRONG version, but it also has the <3.2% statement by the seam. These 2 features seem to contradict each other

Thanks so much for posting this can.

To answer your question....no it is not a normal can. It is indeed an oddity. I have not seen this before but then again I have not been looking. Maybe someone else has. It appears to have been a dumper so maybe more than one are out there that were dug with it?

I have added it to my database of cones.

If you can post a picture of the other side I would love to see it. I would specifically be looking to see what the canning code is to see if it matches any of the DNCMT 3.2% by wgt or Strong variation known codes.

Finally, if you are looking to move this can along, I would be interested. I really love these kind of oddities in cones.

Cheers,
Jim

Jim - thanks for confirming my thoughts. I don't recall who I got it from so I can't help anyone dig more in the same spot. I am interested in seeing if anybody has this variation or any other cone with similar conflicting alcohol statements.
I might be willing to let it go, since I generally don't collect minor variations.

Thanks for the additional picture.

That canning code ( CCC SB ) is one of the codes that are traditionally found the "Strong" variation.

Sometimes anomalies like this are found on "blacked out" or painted over alcohol statements, but your can shows no trace of the 3.2% statement being covered over.

So I'm not really sure how something like this could have occurred. Maybe somebody at the plant playing around?

Anyone else have any thoughts on this?
