Re: POST YOUR PAINTOVERS HERE
@MI-Cans Probable a mistake. The lids are put on after the sheets are printed and rolled so I would suspect that it was either at a brand change over or a rouge lid mixed in ?

You rubbed them out upside down.....that's unfortunate. Good luck on the last one. Maybe if you start rubbing it out from the other end.....hover31 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 08, 2021 8:44 pm Here’s the rest of the story on the Pink Ducks! Ziphippie https://www.therustybunch.com/phpBB3/vi ... 78C60.jpeg

This was a new candidate to rubout. Wasn’t too thrilled to see a root beer hiding underneath….until I looked in the book! Ziphippie

Another odd ball paintover.....The Royal was only seen in a flat.....yet there it is under a 70's Wisconsin Gold Label.....The seam and mandatory looks the same but certainly not the lid.....

Re: POST YOUR PAINTOVERS HERE
The Royal/Gold Label is in the master list. I actually assumed it was the Royal 58 tab from Heileman- now I know! Great can! Might want to keep going- looks like an enamel Royal. Ziphippie
Edit: found it in the old school list, not the master list.-

Re: POST YOUR PAINTOVERS HERE
That’s a great can! Here’s a funny story about that can. My friend Greg H.(beer5527) lives about two miles from my house and asked me to check out some cans he pulled out of the over-stuffed basement. He built a new can house and is slowly getting some cans out for display. He would give me any can that’s in his doubles, awesome dude. I never made it over there (life gets in the way of beer cans sometime, not all the time) and told him to put his doubles on theBay. He did and I forgot about the end of the auction on the Bismarck. Glad you got it! Ziphippie

Re: POST YOUR PAINTOVERS HERE
Joe,
That's a lot of work and dedication to one's collecting niche. Job well done.
That's a paintover list in itself!
I especially liked this one. It looks like you unwrapped it from the middle!
Thanks for sharing this.

Re: POST YOUR PAINTOVERS HERE
Thank you for the kind words.
Back when I was starving for (new to me) paintover cans, I would try different things\patterns with the cans I had, if nothing else to work on my detailing a bit. They took a lot of time, but I learned a lot from it.

Great stuff JustJoe! Here’s another one to look out for. While seam-spotting the other day my suspicions were confirmed. I thought the Fyfe and Drum was a loser so I blasted it out with the drill/cotton wheel. It is different from the actual filled can-

Re: POST YOUR PAINTOVERS HERE
Found an enamel NON PBR with a Mountain Dew under, can see the embossing through the PBR label. I’m not going to rub this one- can’t be many out there. Ziphippie
