Golden Age cone

Post by DanielinAk »

Was lucky enough to find a few can’s from a burn pit. I’m glad I kept the mystery cans as the Golden Age actually faired well after cleaning.

Based on the other brands you found I'm guessing these were found in California or Nevada. Golden Age is an odd brand to find down there. It appears to not have an alcohol statement so perhaps some were shipped that way. It's a post war label as are the others - probably about 1947. That version of Golden Age rarely holds up so in spite of its flaws, be glad you found a keeper. The ones in the bottom row are more typical of what most dumpers look like.

Somebody found a bunch Golden Age sheets years ago and for reasons that make no sense rolled them with J-spouts.
The luckiest dumpers don't rely on good fortune, the unluckiest do.

Yes sir California. About 15 of the Golden Age where found In that burn pit. Like you said lucky enough to have one for the shelf. I just looked at the back side panel and the only thing I can make out is CAPSEALED Continental Can Company.
