Nice pile of rust

#1

Post by mountainrust »

Got out to the woods yesterday with the gold pug. We found this really fun pile of rust in an old prospect hole. Condition improved amazingly as the top layers of cans were removed. Check out the cans on top.

The Winterbru is killer! Great looking pile and I hope to see great results.

And now for the question of the day: what is that quart cone doing in the bottom right of the picture? That IS in Colorado, isn't it? One word: weird.

Hope you plucked that one to clean up as I can't recall many quarts (other than Pabst) turning up out there. As for brand, I vote Horton...

Got some cans cleaned, and there are some interesting cans in that pile. It is located in the next state to my north. I didn't keep the quart, but plan a return trip soon, so will grab it just to see what it is. The 1935 Acmes (Lilek #9) were found in a seperate small pit. One of the first beer cans  All the rest came from the pile of rust. Quite a variety of brands and age :smt030

The Acme is way cool, and the Cereal Products version to boot. The Winterbru makes you wonder, if the age in the pile goes to the hi pro cones, could there be a Mr. Farmer in there?

I was wondering the same thing, Scott. Here are some more of the varied labels down in there. 30's thru late 50's.

Great stuff.

My first guess on the quart would be Konig Brau, a couple of which I found in Wyoming once upon a time.

Looks like you're still on a roll. Another nice find. I think you're gonna have to do better than a Coors to get Bugsy excited. Maybe dig up some milk bones!

Scott, Mike, and I found a pit of 12 ounce Koenig Braus in Wyoming. Also in the pit was one KB quart, so it's a good guess :smt023
