Show Your DUMPED Signs

#1

Post by Longopener »

People have shown some breweriana they've dumped on the site before but I didn't have a camera at the time. I've dumped pieces of a Pfeiffer reverse on glass sign last fall with oldcrowncollector and a VON T.O.C. that was only the tin left and barely discernable. Here's some signs I've dumped over the past 10 years...

Why drive 12 hour one way to dig Pre-Tax Tru Blu ales, Genny 12 Horse Longopeners, Gamecock Ales, Apollos, Neuweilers Bock, and Krueger’s Baldies when you can locally drive 10 hours round trip and dig Pfeiffer, Goebel, Drewrys and Strohs?

Hello

I really like that Horton's Ice Cream sign. By any chance is it for sale? If so, how much would you want for it?

Thanks!

Here is an old tin sign I found in my "infamous?" Hotel dump a year or so ago. I didn't know it was a beer sign at first, thought it was a canned ham lid so was just bending and pulling to get it out of the way. Then I saw some color and relized it was a beer sign. I believe it dates to the 1930s like the majority of all the other beer stuff I've found in that dump.

Here is a photo of it before any cleaning was done. Image I didn't find the chain it was hanging from, you can see the two small holes in the top edge. Overall size is about 8" long and 6" wide.

Here is the after cleaning photo
Image

I used a cool oxalic solution and stopped when I noticed some of the paint was begining to flake off. It's good enough for me and this is the first beer sign that I can remember dumping and bringing home.
