I normally wouldn't post something during a live auction, but in this case I have a pretty good feeling half the collectors in the country have seen it already and feel even bettter that a fellow Rustybuncher won't be taking this one home! Woody

Too busy for ebay this summer so I have no idea what you all are talking about.
Focus: Cones and flats from Michigan, South Bend, and Fort Wayne. Foreign cans only if I bought them myself in the country of origin.

2026 Shows Attended

* Michigan Chapter Winterfest, January 10, Frankenmuth Michigan
* Cabin Fever Reliever, February 28, Mishawaka Indiana

Pull tab? Nice can and I'd like to have it but somethings off. Well, that and I don't have 25K to drop on a can...

Yeah, that has escalated quickly. It's weird that the seller's feedback has gone from 5 to 4 to 3 over the past couple days.

Oh, and this happened . . . I'd love to know the whole story.

I’m guessing seller sold it for $10 BIN someone alerted the seller and that was canceled, Now running it as an auction.

I suspect someone is working diligently on meeting him in person and privately, and a large pile of cash will be too tempting. I'll be surprise if the auction and ultimate winner holds up. There's already been mention of knowing the detail on this guy via his FB profile. Cash talks big time.

Somebody's taxes are about to get REAL messy! It's fun to play, but I don't belong in that playground. Love his feedback- I think I'd be sending My Guy to pick it up. Oh wait, I AM that guy. Sigh.

I can't recall the highest eBay sale I remember seeing, but I don't think anything has cracked the $30K barrier before this one.

Selling items in this price range on eBay is much more economical than selling the things most of us sell there. You only pay the 13.25% on the first $7,500, and it's only 2.35% on the remainder. If it stops where it sits right now, which is unlikely, the seller will pay less than $1,800 in fees.

I wonder how many of the bidders are aware that this one is out there?

I will say that I'm always amazed when the top bidder bids on top of themselves. Any Tom, Dick and Harry can flush out that second bid with relative ease. There's no mystery there.

Around double the highest I can remember, and I don't even remember the exact number.

I didn't know about the sliding scale on ebay fees, but it's income taxes that are now a problem. A good problem, one hopes? I love that such good cans are still out there to be found.

I think a Budweiser Crowntainer got almost $30k on ebay with reserve not met. Clipper was $19,299.00.

Yeah, the Bud Crowntainer didn't sell, so my view is that it got zero. I thought a California OI got around $24K in recent years, but the highest I can find is a Wilshire Club Ale that came up about 50 bucks short of the Clipper.
