Stag brewed in Texas???
With so many of you being so much smarter than me, who can provide an explanation for a Stag can brewed in San Antonio by Pearl? Post-Heileman but pre-Miller ownership? It is a ring tab, so pre-stay tab era.

Re: Stag brewed in Texas???
Did you mean Lone Star? That's what is called out at the bottom.
In any case, Olympia bought Lone Star in 1976, then Heileman bought Olympia in 1983. Heileman bought Carling National in 1979 and took over production of Stag, closing the Belleview, IL brewery in 1988. Stroh's bought Heileman in 1994 and closed the Lone Star Brewery in 1996. Whew!
I would guess that this was from when Heileman owned Lone Star and was probably from near the end of Belleview production or right after it. Much later than that I would think it would have gone to a stay tab.

Whoops, yep, I had intended to type Lone Star and not sure how Pearl came out instead!
Thank you for the history lesson. I have good knowledge of Stag up through the closing of the Belleville plant, but after that, not so much. I suspect that this a common can that I had just been overlooking.

Kotto, don't forget there is a white Stag Beer similar in design also from Lone Star. Both you can find in the dollar cans if you look long enough. The BCCA Catalog list both cans being brewed by G. Heilemann.
