Re: Any thoughts on recent crap corner auction?
Yes, two thoughts. Umm, three thoughts:
1. A recent auction (in the past 12 months) in another auction house a Blue Boar went for $22,000 or so. This auction a readable one is essentially $25.00. Quite the range........
2. Lots of tough rust with 'healthy' ending prices....
3. What is up with the Utica Ale tab? I thought it was a $5-7 tab. It went for $50? Is it a variation I am not aware of (is there even a variation different from the book can?)

Felt some cans went high, some fair, and some bargains. The auction definitely shows there is a healthy appetite out there for tough rust!!

Re: Any thoughts on recent crap corner auction?
Both the Utica Ale and Beer come with dull and Shiney gold variants. Not sure if that is why it went so high. Either one is a 10 dollar can at the most.

Re: Any thoughts on recent crap corner auction?
Canadian Ace $5. Can never go wrong with a $5 cone in this condition-even a Canadian Ace!Rennertwins wrote: ↑Tue Jan 11, 2022 1:03 am Hey thanks for the response. What cans did you think went for a bargain? Always like to know.
Goebel Bock $30
Gold Medal. $50. I won this one.
Hudepohl cone $20.
White/black Maier $25. Never see this can available
Blue Boar/Regal Amber $45. These regularly go for this much sold individually
White Tru Blu OI $30. This is a tough can!!
One thing I did notice was that several cans (mainly west coast brands) seemed to go high even though it appeared to me that there were sizable holes that had been patched and covered with “rust dust”. Obviously can’t confirm w/o having the cans in hand, and I didn’t notice if the description on these cans disclosed that since they were of no interest to me based on what I could see from the photos
Just my opinions and you know what they say about opinions.
Would love to get other opinions on the prices realized.

The Hudepohl cone was a steal. That can will likely clean up some and is $75 (or more) all day long at any OH show.DURTBAGG wrote: ↑Tue Jan 11, 2022 9:16 pmCanadian Ace $5. Flats, cones & early tabs. Ohio cans, ultra clean cans & shine. East coast cans. Rare rust. And, whatever else catches my eye.

Dave did try to disclose anything that he saw along with the general possible defect statement. I have been seeing things as I have been boxing and shipping them. I am sure that there were some that he missed. Some were even hard to tell when they had repairs without looking really close.DURTBAGG wrote: ↑Tue Jan 11, 2022 9:16 pmCanadian Ace $5. Yes, there is a metallic gold wide seam and a dull brown background glued seam for these. Same for the Utica Club Beer. The glued seam dull brown cans are older and tougher.
