Florida Royalty
Had to post proud new addition from Dan's auction - silver Regal zip, standing next to it's older and equally elusive brother - the gold flat 16

Re: Florida Royalty
Very nice! I remember Dan trying to whip up some action late by saying "tough pint!" or something on that one. I hate it when he does that, can't say I have ever been in the lead when it happens but I like the timer on the other auction site Tavern Trove uses. Conrgrats!

As usual, awesome cans Storzman. What 16 ozers are highest on your want list? Rod S.

Re: Florida Royalty
Those are two real beauties, especially side by side! About 20 years ago I lucked into the can on the right on eBay--can't remember the circumstances, might have been in a lot with some others and not described properly. But mine isn't nearly as nice as yours. And the Regal on the left, wow! Storzman and I have talked about that one, it is possibly unique. Certainly haven't seen one anywhere else!

Re: Florida Royalty
I believe there are 4 of the Gold can I know of - one other nice one, And 4, maybe 5? of the silver ZT I know of
It's amazing this silver one surfaced.
Rod - first on the want list is of course the Red Cap Ale, then either 14oz National Boh, or 14oz DRAFT by National. but being just slightly more realisic....Krueger Beer - Cranston. National Bohemian red FT - Miami, Regal Select softop -Blue Letters, and I just like 15s - so the 15oz Schlitz

Re: Florida Royalty
I thought you had the red Natty Boh from Miami?
Always looking for West Virginia breweriana from Fesenmeier and Parkersburg.

Re: Florida Royalty
Hey Joe - I did get Pat Taylor's red Miami Natty from you, hadn't thought of Pat for awhile - hope he is collecting FL and Reunion cans still in heaven!
The USBC I Miami flat says 16 OZS at top - Pat's can has Half Quart. It has no lid - but the lid is tarnished and not dull like the aluminum zip top would be so it was a flat for sure. I would love to have the other flat although that can has not surfaced for photos as still just the original single image from the book on the website. I'd love to also get the zip that matches my flat (some day!)
Miami can is enamel silver - I have both the enamel and metallic from Baltimore - enamel is older so very possible it came both flat and zip. My enamel Baltimore is an original bank top so doesn't really help prove one way or the other.
This is website ZT - zip top is aluminum my Miami can with Half Quart - tarnished steel top - so a flat Miami with matching Baltimore cans - steel banktop on enamel silver, aluminum zip on the metallic silver.

Re: Florida Royalty
Glad you got it. Chris, the seller, asked me about it when he found it, and I immediately thought of you and told him to auction it. Amazing score.

Re: Florida Royalty
thanks Ed - glad you didn't barter with Chris to add to your zip collection! I'd love to see a picture of what all was in the collection Chris picked up. I sensed it was not a mainstream collector but rather someone who saved cans from a trip or two back in the 60s, boxed them up and they just now saw daylight again? Do you know more on the back story?

Re: Florida Royalty
Eric, He told me he has had it for years. And I DID want to barter with him, but I knew half quart collectors like yourself would appreciate it way more than me.

Re: Florida Royalty
oh a softop 16 would be cool - I went and looked at the 12oz one, what a great lid. I've not seen as a 16 so answer is zero. But if you have one - post a pic please

Re: Florida Royalty
that looks like a photo from the website photo box - but not yet on line? Do you have picture of the softop lid? I both love and hate that there is another FL 16 to look for!
