Right, because in 2019 book prices are so accurate.

San Francisco Brewery of San Diego real photo stereoview got $550. Really a good card without the brewery even.

Ebay's 'completed' records don't reflect reality with 'or best offer' sales. They just show the opening bid price. The buyer probably made an offer much higher than $4.

Just did a search on eBay with sold items ranked by price + shipping and that can sold at $8.57, below $8.69 and above $8.50. Maybe a deal was done with the buyer offering a higher price off of ebay??

eBay auctions with "best offer" results can be quirky. If you have a Best Offer item in your watch list that sells, sometimes your first view of that item will show the actual sales price, but subsequent views will show the higher buy it now price

Example: Last month I was watching a Pearl Beer neon that was a Buy it Now for $599, but had a best offer option. After a week or so, it ended up in my sold watch list. The first time I viewed it, the sales price said $399, but any other time after that when I viewed the item it showed a result with the full buy it now price of $599.

I've experienced the same thing. First look actually shows the agreed on price, but then the system reverts back to the original asking price and won't show actual sale price. Definitely odd.

Speaking of Ebay prices: Anyone know of a way to see sales history longer than three months? Is there a sold history service that you can subscribe to? Anyone use/pay for Worthpoint?

How long does eBay keep items up for bid? Just curious, as I'm getting tired of seeing that Miller OD pop up first every day for what seems like forever...

Buy It Now listings are all "Good Til Canceled" now. Auctions can be 3, 5, 7 or 10 days. Not sure if one day auctions still exist.

I think the Miller Auction goes for 1 month at a time & after that month it gets another Month & after that month another month, ect, ect. Since the Seller is a Member here & I'm sure he's reading this maybe he can explain.

You used to be able to run BIN auctions for 30 days. They would then expire and you could then decide when, and if, you wanted to relist. I preferred that format as you could "strategically" decide when to relist, ie: Sunday night.

As Marc says, they just run continuously now until cancelled or sold.

There are a few cone tops that have been out there since I have been back in collecting. A Natty Boh low pro sitting on a pool table comes to mind.

That's how "Good Til Canceled" works. It expires after a month and is automatically relisted unless you cancel it.

Anyone been following these Fox Deluxe (blue can) auctions over the last year? Seems prices are going higher and higher for the really clean ones. Pics below are of my shelfer. Link below is of a recent Ebay auction. Three unique bidders over $300 with final price over $400.

Nice to see that the seller was honest and upfront that this can was from a find and has a new lid. I believe there was an entire case found (maybe two?). They ranged from great condition to minty. All missing one lid. Jeff Musser acquired either all of them or was at least in the mix and acquired a good number of them. I picked up my can from his stock at the Buckeye - Toledo, OH show a few years ago. Paid like $125-$150, something like that. Can is darn near perfect.

Anyway, yet another example of the ultra clean price premium. Even on a can that is technically not all original (new top) and there is supply of.

That's really odd, because usually the more you list the cheaper they get because you flood the Market? Like the Eigenbrots did. LEON.

Someone from our history club found them. Paid very little. Sold them to one of our other members for 25 each. They sold them for about $100 each to someone outside our area.. I think in Ohio. They have been selling them for anywhere from $175 to 300 at shows. I can confirm there was one case of 24 for sure.
I never knew the story until this Summer that it was a member of our local history club.
Looking for Waukesha beer, water & soda; cans, bottles and signs.

You must be mistaken. The seller clearly states the can will only be listed for 15 days.

Of course if the seller lives on Venus, that could explain why 15 days is lasting so long.
Focus: Cones and flats from Michigan, South Bend, and Fort Wayne. Foreign cans only if I bought them myself in the country of origin.

Ohiocanguy asked about a subscription service for eBay searches on old listings. The service is Terapeak and subscription is managed by eBay. I believe you can search back 1 year. We used the service at the pawnshop I worked at up until the business was sold in 2015. I found it very useful.

Gorgeous. Merry Christmas to the finder!

Find something old in your house and pop in on Ebay to see what happens. It's the American way!

Reminds me of this story:

I believe you can search back 1 year. We used the service at the pawnshop I worked at up until the business was sold in 2015. I found it very useful.

Thanks Steve. I'll definitely look into their service.

I know we all have to take ebay sales with a grain of salt sometimes. But, most are truly legitimate competitive sales and thereby give an indication of market value. At least Ebay themselves isn't bidding against you and running the price up.

Frankenmuth "A Promise Kept" tab sold for $47.

My collection does not currently include tab tops. If I expand into tabs at some point, today will be the day I regret not bidding more on this can. I know it is in rough shape but the on grade ones go for thousands. It seems like off grade ones are not available very often. Unless of course I am missing something. Are there two versions of this can? One valuable and one not?
