Amazing pick up! I, for one, have never seen that can, a Mountaineer basketball version. What's the story on that one?

It is rolled. They were never issued. Don't know any details on why not. Same vintage as the other two Iron City Mountaineer cans.

Re: New Acquisition Wednesday
The weekend before last I had a really good weekend on eBay. Actually paid minimum for the zips and flats between the cones and only a dollar above minimum for the Bohemian Club cone. I actually won all my auctions!
The Tavern Pale is near mint. The rest should probably clean up a bit more except the Copper Club. Both cones have what I believe to be the correct cap.Jim Peterson

Re: New Acquisition Wednesday
Last weekend I attended the Carrie Nation Winter Blues Show in Lawrence KS, pushed back from January. Wasn't very wintery out with temps in the mid-50's, but that and new cans chases away winter blues better than anything!
The show wasn't very well attended due to a group of KC's Best people going to the show in Indiana and there also being a show in Arkansas the same day. I managed to find several cans, though: Also won a Coors Light Super Bowl XXXVII neon light in the raffle.

About '78 we took a family trip from MN to TX and Nola. Found one of that Schwegmann can and thought it was about the coolest thing ever. Still a favorite today.... Nice pair of picks for sure...Andy

Re: New Acquisition Wednesday
I have always liked the Storz cans but they are not part of my collecting focus. Maybe someday I will branch out a bit . . .
Focus: Cones and flats from Michigan, South Bend, and Fort Wayne. Foreign cans only if I bought them myself in the country of origin.

Love the cans (especially Alt Heidelberg); you are on a roll. Better watch out, keep spending so much money on other people’s trash and you might be looking for a new girlfriend! LOL!

Re: New Acquisition Wednesday
Two from the Dave Reid collection, and the Schultz from Dan's previous auction - all nice upgrades for me. I bought two of Dave's New Yorker Ales (one to trade to Don Lewinski) at Spring Thaw 2019, and I looked at the Stroud long and hard before passing on it. I asked Dave if he still had it at Blue/Grey last year, and he said the he had decided to put it on the shelf and had then sold the former shelf can.

Re: New Acquisition Wednesday
They're tough enough that I'm surprised both didn't do better at auction. USBC-OI rates the Four Crown by Ambrosia Brewing Co. an R-7, meaning 11 - 20 known. My experiences make me agree with that assessment - I'd guess closer to 11 than 20. It's a very tough can, and none that I've seen are solid or a whole lot better than yours. I had all the South Side Brewing Co. cans before I got mine. The Roger Williams isn't far behind. Great pick-ups, especially for the money.

A few recent auction pick ups.
Three cans on the left, from the most recent Beer Cans Plus auction. Can on the right, from most recent Morean auction. Dave Reid can.
Schmidt is an original Jacob Schmidt can. Not Pfeiffer, Not Associated.
Standard Dry "Real Brewness" - tough zip
Pristine Leisy's - Cleveland, OH
Gold Bond - Cleveland, OH - Can is much, much better in hand than the auction pics. Thank you Dan!

@willssoda
I suspect the UPS, FedEx, and postal carriers for your area all have your name and address memorized. You seem to keep them very busy. Nice finds!

Re: New Acquisition Wednesday
Cans of any variety are not commonly found at antiques stores & shows here in Georgia. So, I picked these up when I found them. Not real rare but I was happy to at least find SOMEthing! The Black Label is Cleveland with a Maryland tax stamp. The Old Dutch have Ohio tax stamps with nothing on the Gunther can.
Collector of Atlantic Co. (Old South, Atlantic, Steinerbru, and Signal Beer) and all pre-pro Georgia (Atlanta, Augusta, Macon, & Savannah) breweriana. Carling Atlanta too!

A couple more from the Dave Reid collection, nice to see so many members picked something up there. Finally, a long opener that had eluded my Pabst collection.

Re: New Acquisition Wednesday
Think the can actually did arrive on Wednesday - Tomahawk from the Dave Reid collection .. I am pretty sure this was my can 20 yrs ago after the Ron Greenblatt sale .. I’ve been wanting a T’hawk for a few years again and man o man super clean bright crisp ones are $$$ , but that’s props to a cool label .. prolly paid $25 to Ron , and once I saw the auction figure it’s to help Dave’s family .. guess it’s a little tarnished and think a new bottom , no biggies.. have these proud shelfers from our dump trip with Dave , Digger and conehead up at a dump Dave found as a kid and in 2015 we found it again …
