Can N Can

#1

Post by ApacheSteve »

Once in a while, a goog Can N Can keeper would come along. Being careful of removing the sand, dirt and rocks
before separating them to prevent scratches. Here are my Can in Cans that I found over the years.
Nothing special, but special for me!

What Can N Cans came your way? :smt006

A can in a can is when you find a can in a can. Usually a beer can inside a bigger can. The bigger can usually protects the can inside from the elements many times resulting in a nice can being pulled from within. BUT, I've pulled cans that were constantly kept full of water meaning th can inside was wasted. Heres a Pic of a Can in a can I just dumped last weekend. We found at least 3 can in a can on that trip. 2 we pulled out on the spot. This one I took home to soak in warm water because of the tight fit. Soaking now. I'm pretty sure I know what it is. LEON.

This is probably my best can in a can. Some of them have been in better shape but this is probably my favorite. I couldn't tell what it was at first so I put my thumb through the outer can, can't tell you how excited I was when I saw what was inside.

vtcongressb4.jpg
vtcongressafter.jpg

Funny that the can in a can didn't clean up as well as the other one did. I think if they're touching the outer can anywhere on the label you end up with that rough feeling rust that just never comes off.

Scott,

Don't ever be shy about asking a question. Even if 99% of members here already know the answer, that leaves another 5% of us who are going to learn something, plus another 3.2% who are lurking. ;)

Honestly though ... ask and you shall learn.

My Dad told me that when he was young, my grandma and grandpa would have all his brothers and sisters stack the food cans inside one another so they could fit more stuff in the back of the pickup when they took the trash to the dump. Since the city dump charged by the truckload, it was cheaper for them. I'm sure that just in the process of dumping cans into a dump or over a hill that there is a probability of smaller cans self-seating themselves inside of a larger one.

Definitely a Mann-Chester in the front. Green one looks like a Rainier Ale, and the other is probably a Country Club.

Gonna guess Tudor Ale for the back Green can - if so, Wasteman wants to know where it is from.
