Re: Ball knobs.
I have a few but can really see myself getting bit by the bug. I'm on the lookout for NYC ball knobs, even the "easier" brands. I'm also not terribly concerned with condition, because I want to use them on my keezer.

New law in the state of Washington: retail stores can now fill growlers...used to be only the brew-pub could fill their own. Now the stores can buy in kegs and fill your growler, a real boon to micro-brewers who don't bottle. Got two previously unknown (to me) IPAs in the fridge!

Carl, that is freakin' AWESOME! I gotta dig out a picture of my brother Dave and I around 1977 posed with all of our flats and cones (about 20 cans!).
Unlike yours, mine went in storage in the early '80s when I went into the Marine Corps and didn't get touched until a few years ago.

I've got a bunch too, many from back east, and '70s and earlier. I'll have to do a little inventory. http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u30/MikeS29_bucket/Beer%20Cans/P9050221.jpg http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u30/MikeS29_bucket/Beer%20Cans/P9050223.jpg http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u30/Mi...

Nice going, Seamonkey! I was born in Maine, so the Maine dumping stories are nice to hear. I was never of dumping age there, but take the advice of these guys: hit that area hard. The thing about long-time "private property" as opposed to a community dumping site is you get a real personal...

Got season tickets to the Everett Silvertips, so I have to root for the Dub, don't see too much of the Q except in the Memorial Cup.

Oh, by the way, so who are you rooting for in the Memorial Cup? I gotta root for the WHL team, the Kootenay Ice, even though they are in tough.

Also on those "chunks" or "rust nodules" as I have heard them called, some take WD40 and saturate them. Never tried it myself, but I think some have had good luck. IMHO, lids are fine as is unless you really want the wire wheel treatment.

Re: $60 for a aluminum can
I came here today to post that THIS WEEKEND I am recycling all my aluminum, and to put out a feeler for anyone that might actually want one. Now I am rethinking!
Actually, the aluminum I have is older than '88 for the most part. In fact, it is older than '82. Anything worth saving?
