Speaking as a former winner of that awesome piece of hardware, you have three basic responsibilities during your tenure that come along with this fine award.
1) Sign and date it on the bottom side of the base to memorialize your prestigious accomplishment.
2) Ensure that it finds its way to next year's canvention to be passed on to the next unlucky schmuck.
3) Don't be a showoff and win it two years in a row.

Re: RB Unlucky Dumper
I love that it is a perpetual trophy.....definitely one you never want to win twice. Does the Kingsbury cone have any significance in relation to the trophy?
Wanted: Hartford Connecticut Breweriana for my collection.....

Re: RB Unlucky Dumper
Rental truck? I bet they assessed a penalty when it was returned for all the mud that no doubt got tracked into the interior. Oh well, I am sure it was worth it.
Focus: Cones and flats from Michigan, South Bend, and Fort Wayne. Foreign cans only if I bought them myself in the country of origin.

Re: RB Unlucky Dumper
No , just a cone laying around in garage when I made it , I tried to model trophy after original one which was lost through the years. There's supposed to be an army guy who got shot on the top but that fell off somewhere along the wayEd Johnson wrote: ↑Wed Sep 11, 2019 9:20 pm I love that it is a perpetual trophy.....definitely one you never want to win twice. Re: RB Unlucky Dumper
I'd love to track down the original trophy. I helped build it. It had a rusty quart cone that I electroplated at work, topped by a horizontal trophy guy figurine with a bolt through his chest, and a 13 ball that I believe Dave Van Hine dumped himself, if memory serves.

Re: RB Unlucky Dumper
That award used to be called "The Dale Bramlette Unlucky Dumper Award" but over the years and time, it was forgotten and left off. I think Kotto came up with that??? It came about when Dale was popped for digging a killer pit of Regal Amber Beer OIs (among other cans) in California not too far from his home when a green-meanie caught him and told him to rebury everything and then he had to go in front of a Federal Magistrate. They didnt really know what to charge him with since it was bogus so they went with "disturbing flora and fauna." He was so mad after that he left California and moved to Idaho.
