Blatz Christmas series..

#1

Post by carsbr549 » Wed Jul 10, 2019 12:40 pm

I picked up a second orange Blatz Christmas can recently. Would like to get some input on the color variation.. Fading is not an issue as both cans are very consistent front to back.. Canning companies are the same.... Probably is a difference in the guy mixing the paint that day, but there are many listed color variations that are much less prominent than this. Historically how has a variation come to be accepted versus just a paint fluke...

It's basically up to you. I don't consider it to be a color difference unless there are can company markings which are also different, in general. But I do have two Krueger Ale cans on my shelf that have absolutely no difference in can marking, but the green is remarkably deeper on the one. And I have seen multiple on-grade examples of the can with the much lighter green to know it is not faded.

Soooo - it's up to you.

I know I have posted this picture before. Regular readers will remember it.
Anyway, posted it to show that my gr. 1 orange can is not very intense color, definitely more of the lighter variety, but absolutely NOT faded. I would like a can that is more intense orange, but I am happy with the can I have and would rather spend my capital on another can.

can.

it could be an issue with my screen settings combined with the settings on the camera when the picture was taken, but does the brown color of the triangle cause any additional considerations? One looks much darker black brown versus more typical brown to me. Is the triangle known to vary, or is it consistent across the spectrum of colors that the Blatz cans came in?
Expired once again in Portland ...
Still musing about cans
