Malt Duck Half Quart

#1

Post by MarkfromIndy » Fri Jul 05, 2019 7:17 pm

Saw it in Gene's collection a few years back and got to thinking that I had never heard hide nor hair before or since. Anybody know anything about production and how many there are or even have a picture?

I believe it was Fred Johnson's at one time. Possibly (probably) unique.

Pretty sure Steve Gordon picked up that can along with some other National Brewery Test cans awhile back. Pretty sure if you do a search in here you'll see the pics he posted on them. LEON.

Here's a pic of it when Ferrell brought a few decent cans to Covington.

I was guessing it might be a 1 of 1. Appreciate the pic. You guys always come through.
Next question is whether it was a mockup or a sample of did it actually get released in some limited quantities?

Foil Label, or I call foil labels paper labels. Since paper or foil label I would guess mock up/prototype & not test marketed to the public in limited supply. LEON.

Leon, thanks for the definitive definition. That pic points toward it being a mock-up prototype.

MR. JUDD also has a French 75 MALT LIQUOR AGAIN FROM THE NATIONAL BREWING COMPANY [BALTIMORE] which is also unique! It is also a 16 ounce can and would make a nice partner to team up with that half quart Malt Duck! Good Luck scoring that pair! :smt009
