WWI Gun Cleaning Kit?

#1

Post by kamsquared »

My step father left this to me mixed up with a bunch of other cleaning kits, knife stones, old ammo, etc.
It appears to be an ink stamp (I think).... R.L.A 1913...might be an “18”...hard to tell.
I couldn’t find any info on it.
Any info from the gun enthusiasts on the site?

The rod is made of steel with a wooden handle on the end. There is actually 2 of the 3-piece rods but the canvas sleeve only fits one set.
The red box under the pieces is from a different cleaning kit. This kit is just the 3 piece rod and the canvas sleeve they fit into.
The R.L.A. log might be someone's initials?

It's possible your handle has been replaced. Check out this thread:

I saw the silver handles that this article shows on another site as well.
It doesn’t appear the handles I have are replacements....but couldn’t say for sure. Both sets have the same handle.
