Burgermeister 205-2 Quart 4% Statement

#1

Post by gorrister »

I just picked up this can in Dan Morean's auction:

https://moreanauctions.com//LotDetail.a ... toryid=966

It's 205-2 in the book, but mine has a DNCMT 4% statement on the lid. The book doesn't mention this statement, but with other Burgermeister Quarts it does say if it has a 4% or 6% statement. Is this because the statement is on the body of the can in the other cases while mine is on the lid? Or is this a new variation that is not in the book?

Thanks!

Very nice can!

It's been my experience that Alcohol statements printed on lids/bottoms were not included in the original USBC. I have no idea whether they will be including this type of variation with the update.

I do have the variation listed in my composite.

Have you checked the quart composite in the reference section? I am on vacation or I would pull my copy out and look. SWEET can. Congrats!

There are no plans to list lid variations in either volume of USBC. We have included a comments section where I have suggested we include notes about lid variations and canning codes. So far, that seems to be beyond scope.
