Saved From the Dumpster

#1

Post by Malt Lager » Mon Jun 04, 2018 9:52 am

A neighbor of mine knows I collect cans and was kind enough to think of me this past week. He saved these from the dumpster where he works. There's nothing to get too excited about but someone may find interest in these. Ninety five percent of the cans were either aluminum, rusted, dented beyond repair, or just common. I saved maybe 40 cans that 'might' have some collectable value. I believe the Detroit Old Dutch is the best of the bunch. The Lone Star is from Houston but has a great U-Tab still intact. The Blatz is from Peoria. The Colt 45 is Detroit too. The XXX has no English on it and I think it was sold in Mexico. Anyone care to enlighten me? Carling is from Canada. I have no idea about the Briar's Birch Beer. Anything interesting here? I probably should clean them and repost a picture but here's the 'before'.

I’d say the old Dutch is the best can too.

The Old Dutch from Detroit is definitely a goodie … pretty sure it's been discussed on the site before, though I'm going to claim I'm too lazy to look it up. Nice to have a friend looking out for you like that!

Nice score..I wonder why someone just tossed them? I understand chucking the aluminum and other junk but any flat in decent shape is a keeper to me..that goes for zips and early tabs too. (Even if they are common)

You have a knack for understatement.
