Pepsi tab testing.

#1

Post by Ziphippie »

Found some unlidded aluminum beer cans yesterday and these+others were in the mix. Not sure if they’re anything but the Pepsi ‘New Promo Retained Tab End’ is cool- I’ve never seen one.
Got saccharine? Got aspartame? Here ya’ go, kiddo- Ziphippie

@hover31
Any outstanding details on the can/company/lid to maybe track down a possible patent?

@kamsquared
Were you aware of a pull tab that doesn't remove from the lid?

I really dig the Pepsi (I guess I sold all my O/I soda cans on theBay earlier this year) but I don’t really collect soda cans. I would like to sell the Shasta’s + others. Just got home from ice fishing now and need to clean up the rest of the snow in the driveway. I will try to post some pics later tonight.
I thought it resembled the one pictured here, the t-handle nose tickler. Ziphippie

Here’s the side of the unlidded Pepsi new promo retained tab end. Might need a better name- maybe just ‘promo-tab’ or the ‘eye-scratcher‘? Ziphippie

That is a cool sta-tab! The idea behind that tear off part was to notify you that you have won some type of prize.....so you could drink the beverage through the normal sta-tab opening and then tear it further to see if you've won. I have not seen that version live and in person. It's too bad the top wasn't on it.

Found this Coca Cola can today while going through my extras with what looks to be the same top as the Pepsi can.
