The return

#1

Post by bantam10 »

Rehit last weekends dump with Kyle. Right off the bat I realized I left my gloves at home so I had to dig slow and careful.
Found 2 more piles of cans in the progress, one of which was extremely old. Dating from pre prohibition to the late 30’s. I kept several cans from here as well as 2 extremely rough un beaded flats. Second pile was really small but had numerous cans including a Michigan can I’ve always wanted to find.

Awesome, those foxes are going to be nice. I hope your Heidelberg comes out good, the red is infamous for fading off of those. Keep it up. I’m jealous.

Thanks. I was literally thinking to myself this week when I would finally find one and then bam! It’s certainly not going to be as clean as everything else, but I finally have one. Very elusive can for me for some reason.

Really nice find.

Is the Heidelburg cone IRTP? The IRTP is really hard. Way harder than the book would indicate.

Judging by the cans I found it with, it’s likely non IRTP

Here’s what’s cleaned up enough to keep.
The ABC is a really cool can and was not expecting to find it at all. Once I get it straightened out it’ll be an awesome addition to my dumped it myself shelf.

The Prager is a massive upgrade!

Great job Ted! I've been bouncing between Facebook and here and see the cleaned results. Very nice! Do you still have much left where you found the ABC? Hopefully you can go back and turn a few up that are better.....

That ABC def a cool label many of us have never dug! AS you are well aware, you're in the perfect area for MO, Chicago, Ft. Wayne...day travelers straight up that side of the state. I remember over by Frankfort a dump that had the only white, orange and black GB cans and a few late 50s Busch flats I ever dumped in Michigan.
"Although the cans will be of no value after opened, their cost is expected to be small..." Iowa: June 22, 1935

Why drive 12 hour one way to dig Pre-Tax Tru Blu ales, Genny 12 Horse Longopeners, Gamecock Ales, Apollos, Neuweilers Bock, and Krueger’s Baldies when you can locally drive 10 hours round trip and dig Pfeiffer, Goebel, Drewrys and Strohs?
