Had a lead on a dump, so I checked it out. It’s right behind a cluster of cabins that I’ve been eyeing for several years now, so it was like a dream come true. The main dump area was loaded with Drewrys O/I’s, mostly battle ship grey! Also 100’s and 100’s of NDNR bottles and a handful of other common cans of the area. I need to hit the area again for sure.

Good eye. And no, although they are prewar. I was hoping to find another blacked out KY mandatory because I’m right up that alley age wise.

Nice. The battleship grey holds up well, so those should clean up nicely.

Been following on Facebook and saw the cleaned results over here. Wow, those did clean up good! You got some good traders out of that dump for sure! Pretty cool you found another Buckeye cone. Sooner or later you'll find a good one!

That’s what I’m hoping. 3rd time is the charm. I got a few cans that are like that.

All but 5 cans are clean. The Pabst is a can I’ve always wanted to find. Grain Belt was a surprise.

Love that pic of all those uncleaned cans laying on their sides stacked in layers. And yeah, anytime you have to load multiple plastic bags onto a long branch to haul your spoils to the car, it’s been a good dig!

Those cleaned results are fantastic-congrats!!

Nice finds Ted. I can dump vicariously through your pics. I’m on a 60 mile restriction until August. Maybe this fall things will change. Those battleship Drewrys were always a welcome sight compared to the thousands of standard Drewrys beer O/Is.

Nice: You have both enamel and metallic variations (as opposed to the common semi-metallic) Fox Deluxe OIs from GR.

Classic northern Michigan soil conditions: black dirt with a good dose of white sand mix (click to see detail). Perfect for preservation.
