Re: How has the coronavirus impacted your work schedule?
That's a good idea. A lot of the students I work with are challenged by depression and other mental diseases. I worry about them. When my lay off starts on Friday, I plan on e-mailing out some final words of encouragement but that is about all I can do.MarkfromIndy wrote: ↑Tue Mar 24, 2020 8:36 am I'm a Licenced Psychotherapist. Office closed down Saturday so I set up impromptu shop at a local Disc Golf Course and am seeing people that don't want to do video sessions in the Gazebo that has a comfortable picnic table. Depression and marital problems by moonlight.
Focus: Cones and flats from Michigan, South Bend, and Fort Wayne. Foreign cans only if I bought them myself in the country of origin.

I'm not exactly the most formal person in my profession, as you could probably guess from being a member here. We ain't exactly a bunch of suit wearing, starched shirt, tie collectors. I'd be happy doing all my sessions in an outdoor setting.

Re: How has the coronavirus impacted your work schedule?
Working for a company that relies heavily on students and athletics, things are going dry quickly. But today, amongst the state shutdown (shelter at home) we were deemed essential. Many students are looking forward to their rings, diplomas and grad products. And to not attend the Final 4 to meet coaches and design basketball rings will result in a ton of lost business. I can work from home, but a 6 yr. old boy is a lot more demanding than any customer. Our machine shop is still humming, and those folks are relieved they won't be sent home.

Re: How has the coronavirus impacted your work schedule?
In 2008, during the Great Recession, we almost went under. This is the complete opposite. We are a fitness equipment retailer. Since the gyms, health clubs and recreation centers closed sales have been insane. We did our entire March sales budget in one week! Dallas County and the surrounding most populated counties in the DFW Metroplex all have various levels of shelter in place. We are permitted to be open based on exemptions for fulfillment services and the health aspect of our products (e.g. we had a customer tell us that they needed a recumbent bike because of rehab from surgery and outpatient PT was canceled). Biggest uncertainty is sales slowing down as quick as they picked up, the possibility that Dallas, Collin, Denton and Tarrant county could force us to close our stores and office/warehouse and whether our vendors can meet demand. We’re already seeing back orders into May. It’s like I fell asleep and am having a nightmare of a science fiction movie and can’t wake up!

Hats off to you my friend. I admire those who sacrifice to help others especially when this is so contagious and you could bring home to the other members of your family. I saw on the news that 500+ NY City Police have tested pos and many others calling in. Scary times.Wrestling Nut wrote: ↑Sun Mar 22, 2020 12:29 pm I'm an RN. I could work 24/7 right now. I don't. My wife is rightfully concerned that I will bring Covid 19 home to the family (notice I did not say that she is worried about me getting sick ). I would willingly work more. So we have settled on one extra shift a week. I work 12 hour shifts so 36 hours weekly has become 48.
Interested in all flat and Cone Soda and Water cans.

At our local grocery the same girl has been working the register everyday with a non stop line of customers ,

UPS guy that comes to our warehouse has been making over 200 deliveries a day .

Re: How has the coronavirus impacted your work schedule?
Things haven't changed all that much for us, I retired a few years back and several years before that I had pulled this car
from a shed and put it in my garage for a retirement project. I got the garage heated and insulated last year so I've been out tinkering whenever time permits. Currently I'm removing
the four layers of repaints. The interesting thing is the original color is called Uhlan Gray (pronounced OOO Lawn) which
to me looks very Olive Drabish? Shelley keeps kidding me that I've taken on one of the largest rub out projects.
STAY SAFE!
