How good was the condition on the Clipper cone? I’m not at the the show but if was real good I might like to buy it.

Unless it’s raining inside, it’s not Blue Gray. Blue Gray has always been a great show! Hope everyone has a great time !

Why drive 12 hour one way to dig Pre-Tax Tru Blu ales, Genny 12 Horse Longopeners, Gamecock Ales, Apollos, Neuweilers Bock, and Krueger’s Baldies when you can locally drive 10 hours round trip and dig Pfeiffer, Goebel, Drewrys and Strohs?

OMG, I'm so jealous. That is the best selection of cans offered at a show that I've seen in a long time. At least as far as my interests go. Wow!
Awesome pix. So wish I was there!

Re: Seen at Blue Gray Thursday Feb 13, 2020
I noticed a fair number of rustybunchers were not at the show, probably due to Raynard's reluctance to give up the show. Get over it guys, he's gone and he's not coming back. His ghost cannot interfere with where the show ends up. We miss you and we'd like you all to come back. Even though it lack's some of the features that the old Ramada had, and it wasn't the hotel selected by Angry Gary and others it's good enough for those of us that attended. Please come back next year. We miss you!

I definitely want to attend this show soon. It's proximity to Dulles and DC makes it especially tempting because I could bring g my wife and make it a week long event.

Re: Seen at Blue Gray Thursday Feb 13, 2020
Great pictures Keith. Thanks for sharing them with the rest of us who did not make the show.
Now, here is the answer to the question posed recently. Where are the Rusty Bunchers (and I do see quite a few in the pictures)? Look at the pictures; there is not a single off grade can pictured. And while on grade cans may be where the hobby is heading right now, a lot of rust remains in the hobby, just not at Blue Gray anymore. Rainer finally has his show, unfortunately he is not present with us to enjoy it.

Re: Seen at Blue Gray Thursday Feb 13, 2020
Even though there were no offgrade cans shown in the pictures there were plenty of them available. Mark Benbow had a very large selection. I have brought 6-8 totes of nice but offgrade stuff to Blue Gray many years. I have stopped bringing them because I would rarely sell any. You have to know what your customer is looking for. Now I bring mostly Signs, trays, and better cans. I sold about 2K and only spent about $100 more than I sold. Not bad for me!

Re: Seen at Blue Gray Thursday Feb 13, 2020
I was at Blue-Gray for two nights two years ago with a room full of off grade cans and cheap Breweriana. 95% of the people who came into my room went "Oh rust" and ran out like we had ebola or something. Blue-Gray is a great show for really high end cans and Breweriana, but isn't a show that is going to appeal to a lot of Rusty Bunchers, especially when Cabin Fever is only two weeks away and Spring Thaw is a month and a half later. Sadly, there is no going back to the old Blue-Gray of 1980-2014.

Re: Seen at Blue Gray Thursday Feb 13, 2020
I did sell quite a bit, but not as much as expected. and a lot of what I sold were signs and lights.
BG is mostly high grade compared to other shows. That's what Ray wanted. I'll still go every year. It's a 30 minute drive for me, so I'll keep the rust coming. Besides, I can never make Spring Thaw due to school--it's just at a bad time during the semester for me.
It would be nice if there were more RBers at BG though, even though I was not alone with the off-grade. I had rust as did John M., my roommate. So did Candog and Brian DeB. There was also Tim C., and a few guys whose names I didn't catch. So it's there; just outnumbered.
