Post by NatBoh »

Anybody have experience dumping in and around Roanoke Island N.C?
Or still live close enough to scout the area?

Thanks,

John

Too sandy, salty, and sunny for there to be much there. I hope you can prove me wrong though.

Kind of what I thought. Although the treasure I am searching for is not beer cans.
But I would offer any Rusty Bunch member a cache of old cans if they can help me solve a 40 year old puzzle......
Do we have any NPS employees in the RB?

National Park Service?

What puzzle are you trying to solve? Or does this involve thousands of pounds of pirate gold so you would rather not say?
Focus: Cones and flats from Michigan, South Bend, and Fort Wayne. Foreign cans only if I bought them myself in the country of origin.

2023 Shows Attended

* Michigan Chapter Winterfest, January 14, Frankenmuth Michigan
* Cabin Fever Reliever, February 24, Mishawaka Indiana
* Buckeye, March 11, Toledo Ohio
* SummerSwap, July 21 & 22, Frankenmuth Michigan

Correct.....National Park Service. In and around Fort Raleigh on Roanoke Island.
Value of treasure is about $1000 and has been lost to time since the early 1980’s.
My wife and children are hooked as well- we are going to take a family trip this summer and poke/look around the area. We can’t dig of course. Problem is the prize is buried about 3 feet down.
The Rusty Bunch could be key in pinpointing the location.
Probably the best in the business at this craft....
I would be willing to give a few quality cans out of my collection for a chance to find the bounty.

Correct......It is from the book “The Secret” published way back in 1982.
Anyone interested in lending a hand? I have a general idea of where to look but need some assistance.

Have you watched the show about it on tv? They found 2 of them on the show - well part of one.

Pretty cool premise - hope you’re correct. I didn’t think they were that deep
