This can has many nick names, Stein Girl, Bar Maid, ect, ect. I have one that appears mint 1+ but its not. There was one on ebay about 5 years ago that looked like a clean indoor can but kinda offgrade that sold for $1,000. BUT, This can had extremely bad pictures, you know the kind, where they take a pic of it on a table but stand back about 30 feet so you see the whole interior of the house but can barely see the can on the table because it looks so small from being so far away. Then make the picture blurry so it's all distorted. All the pics were this way. Then when you ask for better pics or if it has any repaint & they ignore you. The colors were suspicious looking to me. Next thing you know it's gone & you wonder if somebody got a deal or overpaid on a repaint. I'm sure somebody in here knows who bought it. But they aint talking for some reason. A small handful of dumpers, many faded & some repainted but even these are Rare in my opinion. I don't think a nice clean indoor original exist. LEON.

Here's what Leon's can probably looked like before the "advanced restoration" occurred. There are about a dozen of these known. The majority being in similar condition to mine when found however about half of them got a total body makeover.

Leon - that can was completely restored, and you still turned down $10K. Why?

Why, Because the guy that offered $10k did not know it was restored or repainted. So instead of telling him I just said thanks for the offer but I'm going to keep it. I know some people who might have less ethics & morals might of took the $10k & not said anything. LEON.

I might go out on a limb & guess mine might of looked better then Scotts & more like that ebay can I pictured. Why? because the original back looks good. But, as we all know a lot of cans can be wasted on one side but still good on the other & if this can is one of those I don't know? BUT, I do know mine looks a lot nicer then the last repaint that sold on ebay last year. LEON.

Mine has a little bit of color along the seam but nowhere near the amount of yours. With the seam being the heaviest part of the can, they typically rolled so the face was exposed to the sun. Most or all of these came out of the desert so any exposed surfaces are going to be fried like mine. Leon's was probably done by a guy named Wout who was some sort of commercial artist from Denmark or Norway. Others like roy would know more. He typically left some original paint on the back side so there was no mistaking it for the real thing. I had an Ambassador cone that he did at one time where the box on the back was left untouched. He did good work but there is no mistaking them for a repaint when examined up close.

I have a couple of west coast repaints from that guy, a Gold Age and a Golden Creme. Both are definitely repaints in the hand, but from a few feet away or in a photo, they are almost impossible to tell.

He had his hands on some awesome cans back in the late 70's when those repaints were made.

Leon, that can on the left is too pretty for my shelves. It would make all the other cans look bad. However, that can in the middle would feel right at home on my shelves. It appears to be a dumper but I will be generous and give you $5 instead of the usual $1 dumpers get. In fact, I will give you another $5 for the one on the right.

I can't imagine why you would need such a feature.
