Re: Malta Hatuey Crowntainer
There was a rusty one available in Argentina at BCWC. The price was substantially higher than that...

Re: Malta Hatuey Crowntainer
Very interesting can. I have seen them before and the label was removed and a regular Hatuey flat was underneath. I would definitely leave the paper label on.

Re: Malta Hatuey Crowntainer
Kip, I think you have something there, and it appears to be in pretty reasonable shape. I would not have an idea on value. Out of my wheelhouse. That said, I have collected cans since not 1969, BCCA #373, I have never seen that can. Seen a few of the regular flat tops, but no paper label that I can remember. Good luck and good find. Please keep me in mind if a crowntainer comes round, I would appreciate the help, Bill

Re: Malta Hatuey Crowntainer
I have not seen that version before - great can to "preserve". I have two versions and one is somewhat like his one with "BEER" on one side and "CERVEZA" on the other and "BACARDI" below the profile of Hateuy's head. I would line up for the can too.
Expired once again in Portland ...
Still musing about cans

Re: Malta Hatuey Crowntainer
My opinion some of the crowntainers a bit bland, but that design and the Chief are killer, and would gladly put on shelf. Congrats on your upgrade, very, very nice.

Re: Malta Hatuey Crowntainer
Hope its ok to trail in on this thread. I need to get a nice Hatuey opener or maybe a label or two for a friend who is not a beer collector. I'd like any of the cans myself and need to upgrade or get any of the older labels.
Hatuey was a Taino Indian executed by the Spanish in 1512. My buddy is becoming the world expert in their art and artifacts and I thought it would be cool to get a nice wall mounted opener or something cool for him.
If you have any older Hatuey stuff (pre-1970 say) I would be interested. Thanks, Andy
