“Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee”
Today I received a can I have been hunting for for about 20 years. Mr Champs! There is a great back story to this can, but I’m gonna let Dave T tell it so I don’t tell it wrong. There are 5 flavors listed in the book and this is a super rare can.
Interested in all flat and Cone Soda and Water cans.

Yeah, hopefully Dave will chime in with the story. That will really shed some light. Can has ounces and liters suggesting it would be for sale outside of US and canned in good ol Detroit MI

Don’t know the entire back story, but I can tell you that it came from the Paul Rebner collection and was my down grade.

Mizmo, it's hard to tell, but it looks like the cans in your photo are crimped steel. So there are steel and aluminum variations?

They are crimped steel. Sorry for the poor pictures. I packed them up when we moved and slid plastic bags over them to protect them during the move.Longhorn Mike wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2019 4:12 pm Mizmo, it's hard to tell, but it looks like the cans in your photo are crimped steel. Re: “Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee”
My understanding on the Mr. Champs cans were they were produced without Ali’s consent, never filled and were supposed to be destroyed without seeing the light of day. Workers stole several cases, with at least some of the cans missing a lid. Many of the ones available originated with a single seller. I’ve only seen crimped examples.
I collect one flavor of rare soda can generations. Also publish Collectible Soda Cans - don't hesitate to contact me with cans you have available or questions about old soda cans.

Looks like he may have known about it, but other information indicates it sunk pretty fast.
