The one good can...
A few weeks ago I made a post about finding that one good can when your digging through a 70's collection. Well last night I may have out done my Fox Head Ale. I'm looking through nine boxes of cans in a guys garage and I run into a can that I didn't recognize, or really didn't know anything about. I just realized it was old and clean and should probably take it along. I only took home 8 cans as it was mostly 70's and 80's cans with many boxes having leaking cans in them. The cans I did take home were your average Wisconsin dumpers and drinking cups along with the one odd California can. Upon arriving home I did a search on Rusty Bunch and sent a few texts and started to realize I may have found something pretty cool. Still not 100% sure what I have. One cool thing is it was filled 2 1/2 months before Pearl Harbor. Steve

Another one enters the shark tank... have fun with that!
My stepmom sent me a lead she saw on Craigslist, it was one can away from the recycle bin. In addition to the Pulaski and Milwaukee cones there was a Fountain Brew so clean they must have thought it was also a novelty item. Nice!

Re: The one good can...
To put in baseball terminology, not only did you knock it out of the park, but you cleared the parking lot, adjacent freeway and the ball may eventually land several counties away. Congratulations on an incredible discovery. The vast majority of collectors, myself included, have never had, or will have a find remotely close to the quality of yours.
The luckiest dumpers don't rely on good fortune, the unluckiest do.

That's a Killer can. I once had a Dumper of it I got from Wally Gilbert. Would love to own a nice indoor can like that one but it's way out of my price range. Congrats, nice find. LEON.

You might as well just stop collecting, the can and the story behind it will never get any better.
Congrats!

Re: The one good can...
LEGENDARY! Congratulations! An indoor Glory B is one of the least likely cans to turn up in ANY collection. The vast majority of collections are missing this can in any condition. Yours is not only indoor, but likely the best known example! I think it beats the USBC example pictured here, which I held in my collection for a number of years. I had long considered this can to be the best known example. You can read more about it here: http://beercanhistory.com/abcs2.htm#General
The can I used to have has changed hands 3 times in the last 10 years, so I've got a decent idea of value for the can if you want to message me.
Enjoy the Glory! It's almost unbelievable!

Re: The one good can...
One good can? That's one unbelievable can!! Unless there are unseen blemishes on the sides of the can that your pictures don't show, that has to be the best known example. As the current owner of Mr. OctoberAle's can pictured above, I'm comfortable saying yours is better! Get ready for some crazy offers! Congrats on a once in several life time score!
I don't know what you paid for the can but I'm guessing it wasn't too much. If you decide to sell it, my advice would be to remember the folks you got it from. Karma is a funny thing.....

I've heard many stories about box's full of 70's Aluminum but one good can at the bottom. SO, I spent plenty of time going through box's of 70's aluminum & Crimped steel, And every time I get to the bottom I say to myself HEY, Where is that one good can Just hasn't happened for me LEON.

Re: The one good can...
I don't think I will ever find out how an obscure 1940's California can made it's way to an attic in northern Wisconsin. I was told the cans belonged to his uncle who passed away in the 80's. The can collection was kept at the uncles cabin in Northern Wisconsin. The cabin stayed in the family and the cans were boxed up and put in to attic. Recently the cabin was sold outright to one of the family members and that the guy I got the cans from was told he cold have the cans if he took them out of the attic.. The interesting part of this story is that the guy could only get half of the collection in his minivan to haul home. The other half of the collection is still in the attic at the cabin.. This is the stuff that keeps you up at night!!!
To be continued... Hopefully.. Steve

Re: The one good can...
There's a bit of speculation as to why there are so few examples of the Glory B in existence. I think it's a fair bet that the US entering into WWII in Dec 1941 may have played a roll in the discontinuation of the brand. My can was filled Sept 26 1941. We probably won't get them all, but if anyone reading this post, that has a Glory B see if there is a readable date on the bottom of the can and post it. We may be able to solve a mystery. I've heard that beer cans were in short supply at the beginning of WWII, so an argument could be made that the canning companies used existing stock in there warehouses for withdrawn free and OD labels.. Re: The one good can...
20 years ago I knew a guy that found a near mint Samson ale in a garbage bag full of 70's cans
